VCU Health: Alarm Fatigue

Medical devices often have alarms to alert healthcare providers of changed in the patient condition. However, 80% of these alarms are false positives and cause significant distractions from patient evaluation and care. The goal of the project is to survet current technology and build and test applicable technology to reduce overall noise / number of alarms and find ways for staff to quickly interpret and respond to the alarms remotely.

VCU Health: CVC Placement

This project worked to develop a new, improved guide wire system for a Central Venous Catheter designed so that it will be unable to advance into the patient and potentially retain in the patient.
