An orange square with the text D3O Impact Protection

D3O:

NIOSH estimates that over 1.2 million workers in the United States are potentially exposed to hand-arm vibration from hand operated power tools and vibration inducing equipment used in industrial work environments. One half of those workers are expected to face potentially debilitating Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS). While there are protective gloves on the market that make claims related to vibration mitigation, very few cite compliance to recognized performance standards. Goal is this project is to take a fresh look at AV issue to summarize the fundamental issues related to effective vibration measurement and articulate in layman’s terms, explore potential for field-ready vibration measurement, make recommendations for improved performance standard.
